Meet Simon Morris, our new Business Development Manager. Simon joins us with a wealth of knowledge in waste management and has over 20 years of experience within the industry.
Derwen had their own mini bake off to raise money for the Macmillian Coffee morning on Sept 29th their efforts raised £267.95 for the charity.

We were delighted to welcome Andy Rees Head of Waste Strategy at Welsh Government and his colleagues to our facility for site tour and discussions about the industry challenges. Discussions were centred around the fluctuating markets for recyclates, the issues around plastic recycling and lack of RDF capacity in both the UK and Europe.
Delighted to welcome John Edwards Editor of the HUB4com and James Dodkins of Molson Group to site, they are developing an article on Derwen’s electric material handler Sennebogen 821E to be featured in the industry publication HUB4 magazine and website. wwwhub-4.com.
We were delighted to welcome Suzy Davies AM , our site regulator and colleagues from Natural Resource Wales to our site. The visit included a tour of our Recycling and Recovery facility and discussions around Derwen’s challenges in the waste management sector. It was Suzy’s first visit to a waste management facility and it was a great opportunity for us to share knowledge and practise on waste management.
Debbie Keogh took part in the Welsh 3 Peaks challenge on June 17th for for Ty Hafan, the team finished 20th out of 60 teams and had a total climbing time of 11 hours 27 minutes on what was the warmest weekend of the year.

The 18 month review of our Investors in People was recently carried out and the assessor was very impressed by the continual improvements and employee development since our accreditation in 2015

The Awards for Excellence in Recycling and Waste Management are a nationals attracting submissions from all over the UK.
Derwen were the first company in Wales to take delivery off an Electric Telehandler from the Molson Group. The Green Sennebogen 821 materials telehandler provides reduction in fuel and operating costs and it offers increased safety and operator comfort.
